SALES OFFICER MARITIME AGENCIES
The position has the aim of developing, within the Shipping area, the commercial network through the acquisition of new customers in order to foster business development. It has, also, the objective of building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers and monitoring their level of satisfaction in order to guarantee quality standards.
It will have to develop and implement effective sales strategies in line with company targets and analyze market trends and those of competitors.
Key Responsibilities
Supports the development and implementation of the commercial strategy based on company
objectives in order to acquire new customers and increase market share; Builds and maintain
long-term relationships with customers and provides them with the necessary support;
Maintains contact with customers to evaluate their needs and improve quality standards;
Monitors the commercial activity, also ensuring the recording and analysis of sales data;
Analyzes market trends and competitors’ activity;
Ensures, in the event of a request from customers, the transmission of reports containing data
relating to port calls and transported goods;
Elaborates periodic commercial reports containing information related to vessels traffic with
the aim of analyzing the data and identifying potential customers;
Guarantees the sharing of data with the operations team to define a preliminary action plan to
be shared with the company and Inchcape commercial team;
Supports the development and management of strategic project activities and any tenders in
the context of the Project Management;
Ensures possible availability, even outside working hours, for all those needs that maya rise in
the management of the commercial activity;
Adhere to all ISS processes, procedures, working instructions and policies.
Ensure 100% compliance in relation to ISS Ethics Policy and UK Legal requirements
Ensure full compliance with the ISS HSSE Management System
Accountable for reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses whether the persons are
injured or not Taking action within area of accountability to ensure the HSSE of both the job holder and other persons who may be affected by acts carried out or failed to be carried out by the job holder while at work;
Key Behaviours
Experience in the maritime sector and in maritime agency activities;
Degree in Marketing and Sales or Business Administration or Technical Diploma with adequate
experience in the sector;
Excellent knowledge of the English language, spoken and written;
Driving license B;
Knowledge of the MS Office package, Internet and management software in use;
Organizational and time-management skills;
Analysis and synthesis skills aimed at problem solving; Relational and communication skills;
Negotiating skills, sales techniques and commercial aptitude;
Strong motivation and ability to work by objectives; Project Management skills;
Skills in reporting and data analysis activities; Availability, flexibility and high resistance to stress .
Place of work: Northern Italy, Genoa office, with availability to travel.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's level of experience
Only candidates resident in Genoa and with specific industry background and experience will be considered.
